A delegation from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE), led by Vice President Yan Ming and International Business School Dean Zhang Honglie, attended the 2025 European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Global Annual Conference here from June 1-3. The event marked YUFE's first participation as an official EFMD member, a status gained in January 2025, signaling a new stage in the university's internationalization drive.
This year's conference, themed "Navigating Uncertainty: Business Schools and the Innovation Ecosystem," explored the innovative role of business schools in a volatile global environment. The agenda featured five keynote speeches and ten parallel forums, with key discussions on AI-driven educational transformation, adapting management education to new patterns of globalization, and strategies for building sustainable innovation ecosystems within business schools.

During the conference, Vice President Yan Ming met with EFMD President Eric Cornuel to provide a detailed overview of YUFE's internationalization journey and achievements. He particularly highlighted the progress YUFE's International Business School has made in preparing for the prestigious European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation. President Cornuel highly commended the university's proactive efforts and wished the International Business School complete success in its EQUIS accreditation process.
The YUFE delegation also held productive talks with Professor Ding Yuan, EQUIS Quality Services Associate Director and Senior Advisor for Asia at EFMD, to discuss concrete steps for moving the accreditation forward. Professor Ding praised the school's pragmatic approach to its preparations and offered professional guidance on potential challenges.
Participation in the annual conference not only strengthened YUFE's ties with authoritative international organizations like EFMD but also clarified the path forward for its EQUIS accreditation. The International Business School will continue to adhere to the principle of "using evaluation to drive development," deepening collaborative innovation with top-tier business schools at home and abroad. It will leverage the accreditation process as a key opportunity to comprehensively enhance its educational quality and international competitiveness.
