On the evening of May 22nd, the gymnasium at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics was electric as the YUBA Yunnan University Men's Basketball Super League championship reached its ultimate showdown. In a classic offensive battle, host YUFE faced off against Yunnan Normal University, ultimately clinching an 86-76 comeback victory fueled by a dominant final quarter. YUFE's captain, #8 Chen Kangrui, was awarded MVP for his outstanding performance.

The intensity was palpable from the tip-off. YUFE's #8 Chen Kangrui drew first blood with a long-range three-pointer, while #16 Zhao Ruixin showcased his dominance in the paint, grabbing offensive rebounds for putback scores. Yunnan Normal fought back, with #10 Pi Changsheng’s aggressive drives drawing fouls. He sank all six of his free throws, and a late three-pointer from #17 Li Qiuyu gave Yunnan Normal a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter erupted into an offensive shootout. Yunnan Normal stayed hot, with Pi Changsheng, Li Qiuyu, and Wen Changxin combining for five three-pointers, while #20 Liu Licheng was lightning-fast on the break. YUFE kept pace with the slashing drives of #3 Chen Jipeng and the deft playmaking of #8 Chen Kangrui. By halftime, Yunnan Normal had extended its lead to 42-35.

After the break, Yunnan Normal continued its barrage from beyond the arc as Pi Changsheng, Chen Yuhao, Chen Zhicai, and Wen Changxin rained down threes. #14 Chen Zhicai, in particular, erupted for a string of points. Meanwhile, YUFE's "Mr. Clutch," #24 Bao Xinyang, caught fire, single-handedly scoring a flurry of points from both inside and out. #3 Chen Jipeng added a spectacular reverse layup that wowed the crowd. Still, Yunnan Normal held a 69-62 lead heading into the final frame.

In the decisive fourth quarter, as Yunnan Normal began to show signs of fatigue, YUFE unleashed a relentless full-court press. #4 Yang Kejin tore through the defense, and #3 Chen Jipeng ignited the comeback with three consecutive fast-break layups. Bao Xinyang tied the game at 76-76 with a powerful move inside. In the crucial final moments, captain #8 Chen Kangrui proved his clutch credentials, hitting a go-ahead floater and then, along with Bao Xinyang, sinking two dagger three-pointers to seal the victory. Despite last-ditch efforts from Yunnan Normal, YUFE’s lockdown defense secured the win.

As the final buzzer echoed through the gym, the YUFE men's basketball team raised the championship trophy amidst a thunderous roar from the crowd. Yin Fan, Director of the New Media Center of Yunnan Broadcasting Television, presented the champions with custom YUBA medals, the championship trophy, and exclusive champion T-shirts.
