On December 1, the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Kunming held a reception to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR. Wang Min, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President, and Yan Ming, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the event upon invitation.

The university has long adhered to the philosophy of open education and actively promoted international educational cooperation. Since 2025, in alignment with the construction of the China-Laos community with a shared future, the university has continuously deepened its exchange and cooperation with Laos. It has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several Lao ministries, including the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Technology and Communications, reaching consensuses on joint talent cultivation and other areas.

Moving forward, the university will continue to use education as a bond and uphold the concept of shared destiny and progress. It aims to further expand cultural exchanges and pragmatic cooperation with Laos across multiple fields. Within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative," the university will contribute its expertise to talent cultivation and technological innovation, writing a new chapter in the traditional friendship between China and Laos.

Representatives of Lao international students from the university also participated in the event.
