Recently, according to a search of the Web of Science database, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) has entered the list of the Top 100 Universities in China for the number of Management SSCI journal publications. In 2024, Chinese university scholars published 6764 papers in Management SSCI journals, of which 29 were published by YUFE faculty.

As an important indicator for measuring the international research capabilities of universities in management, this list has high objectivity and international recognition. YUFE’s entry into the list of the top 100 universities for the number of Management SSCI journal publications indicates that the school’s organized scientific research has begun to show initial results in recent years, and it possesses a certain scientific research foundation and research strength. However, compared with the top-ranked universities, YUFE still has obvious shortcomings in terms of international academic influence and internationalization of research topics. In the future, it is necessary to gradually narrow the gap with national finance and economics universities and enhance international academic influence through strategies such as strengthening international cooperation, optimizing resource allocation, focusing on characteristic fields, and focusing on the training of faculty.

The search database used for this list was Web of Science, the search area was SSCI journals in Business and Management, and the search included papers whose author address contained China. As long as a Chinese author appears in the paper, regardless of whether they are the first or subsequent author, they are counted towards their institution.
