On June 21, 2025, the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) Alumni Association held the first meeting of its Fourth Member Representative Congress, bringing together over 200 member representatives to map out a new blueprint for development. University Party Committee Secretary Chen Hong delivered a keynote address, and University President Wang Min was elected as the new President of the Alumni Association. The various sessions were presided over by Vice Presidents Yu Nutao and Li Zhengbiao.

Representing the university, Secretary Chen extended a warm welcome to the alumni representatives and sincere greetings to all alumni worldwide. He provided an update on the university's recent achievements and future direction. "Today's congress is not just an update to our organizational structure, but a new starting point for our alumni to collectively contribute to the development of our alma mater," he said. He expressed his hope that alumni would serve as professional role models to inspire current students, leverage their networks to support the university's growth, act as custodians of university culture to unite the alumni community, and demonstrate the caliber of YUFE graduates through their social responsibility. He emphasized that the university will always cherish the concept of a "lifelong community of shared destiny" with its alumni and will continue to support their development by providing better services and platforms.

In his inaugural address, newly elected President Wang Min noted that the university is in a critical period of development. "The challenge of our time," he stated, "is to effectively integrate our resources and harness the collective wisdom and strength of our alumni to advance the university's mission." He pledged that the new council would work collaboratively to strengthen the association's structure, enhance its service system, and chart a magnificent blueprint for the mutual success of both the alumni and their alma mater, striving together to build YUFE into a "high-level regional university with distinct financial and economic characteristics, rooted in Yunnan, serving the nation, and oriented towards South and Southeast Asia."

Vice President Yu Nutao delivered the work report on behalf of the third council, summarizing its achievements over the past five years in areas such as Party-building leadership, institutional development, event organization, and mutual development. The third council's Secretary-General, Hu Xiaoshan, presented the financial report.

The congress reviewed and approved the Third Council's Work Report, the Third Council's Financial Report, the revised Constitution of the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics Alumni Association, and the election procedures for the meeting.

The assembly elected the fourth council, its supervisor, and key officials. Mao Liang and 50 other alumni were elected as directors, and Chen Yiqin was elected as supervisor.
