From June 11th to 13th, a delegation from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE), led by Vice President Yan Ming, attended the 15th Annual Conference on Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in Kunming.
The event, which also served as the 2025 working meeting of the Research Branch for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education of the China Higher Education Association, focused on the theme "New Meanings, New Features, and New Goals for the High-Quality Development of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education" under the framework of China's "Plan for Building a Powerful Nation in Education (2024-2035)." Dean Zhang Honglie and Associate Dean Liu Lifang of the International Business School were also part of the YUFE delegation.
During a panel discussion on the afternoon of the 12th, Dean Zhang Honglie delivered a keynote report titled "Opportunities and Challenges for the High-Quality Development of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education at Regional Universities." In her address, she systematically analyzed current trends and evaluation metrics in higher education internationalization, linking them to the national strategic plan. She also shared YUFE's significant achievements in international cooperative programs.
Dean Zhang proposed a six-dimensional pathway for regional universities to achieve high-quality development in this area: strategic planning, top-level design, policy support, platform construction, enhanced connectivity, and leveraging complementary strengths. Her insights offered a valuable reference for the participating institutions.
The conference featured an opening ceremony, keynote addresses, thematic forums, and panel discussions, creating a high-level platform for exchange among universities nationwide. Keynote speakers included Lin Jinhui, President of the research branch, as well as representatives from institutions like Yunnan Agricultural University, the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute, and Chongqing Medical University.
By actively participating and contributing suggestions, YUFE effectively showcased its innovative practices in international education, laying a solid foundation for further enhancing the quality of its global engagement.
