YUFE Faculty Excel at 8th Provincial Teaching Innovation Competition

The finals of the 8th Yunnan Provincial Higher Education Teacher Teaching Competition, which also serve as the Yunnan qualifier for the 5th National competition, recently concluded at Yunnan University. Faculty from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) delivered an outstanding performance, securing multiple prestigious awards and showcasing the university's strength in innovative teaching.


Among the winners:

In the Foundational Courses Track, the team led by Wang Haiyan from the School of Statistics and Mathematics secured first prize, while a team led by Jiang Yan from the School of International Languages and Cultures won second prize.

In the Ideological and Political Education in Curriculum Track, a team led by Wen Yong from the School of Public Finance and Management earned second prize, and a team led by Li Liping from the Information School received third prize.

In the Innovative Liberal Arts Track, two teams from the International Business School, led by Yao Jun and Tie Jing respectively, both won third prize.

The university placed great importance on the competition. The Teacher Teaching Development Center meticulously coordinated the preparations, encouraging faculty from across the university to participate. A comprehensive support system was established, featuring group discussions, multiple rounds of refinement, and one-on-one coaching sessions with internal and external experts. The Center also organized mock competitions before the finals to ensure the teams were fully prepared.

The participating faculty teams dedicated themselves to the preparation with immense enthusiasm, working tirelessly to refine their teaching innovation reports. Their sustained effort and deep preparation paid off, leading to their excellent results in the competition.

Looking ahead, the university will continue to focus on enhancing teaching capabilities and promoting pedagogical innovation. It plans to deepen instructional design reform, disseminate the outstanding outcomes from the competition, and integrate them deeply into daily teaching practices. These efforts will further solidify the foundation of faculty development, providing a powerful impetus for cultivating more high-quality talent.
