The China Scholarship Council (CSC) recently announced its 2025 "Perceive China" Social Practice Bases, and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) has been successfully included. The university's "Maitreya City Xiaohebian Village Cultural-Tourism Integration Practice Base" is one of only 45 sites selected nationwide.

This prestigious designation marks a significant breakthrough in YUFE's international student programs and underscores its success in integrating global talent cultivation with regional development.

This recognition is the result of YUFE's sustained efforts to deepen the "Perceive China" brand, guided by national educational policies and the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s letters to international students. The university has developed a flagship "China Panorama" national conditions course, which is now a required part of the international student curriculum. Innovating its teaching model with what it calls "walking ideological and political classes"—experiential, field-based learning—YUFE actively partners with government agencies and enterprises to establish practice bases. These initiatives are designed to comprehensively enhance the quality of education and strengthen the "Study at YUFE" brand.

In recent years, YUFE has focused on strengthening its international communication, systematically showcasing the "Yunnan chapter" of Chinese-style modernization to its international students and offering a "Yunnan experience" that is replicable and shareable for countries in the Global South.

The impact of this approach is evident in the achievements of its alumni. In 2023, Qibi, a student from Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Works, published a book in France titled A Lesson from Ntoumazap, which drew on his studies in China to explore rural revitalization and industrial poverty alleviation in developing countries. In 2024, Ruben, a student from Nigeria’s National Board for Technical Education, published My Story with China in the United States, a book focusing on SME development inspired by his experiences in China.
