On March 19, the 2026 Forum on High-Quality Development of International Cooperation Between Chinese and Foreign Universities was held in Qingdao. Yan Ming, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech during the sharing session for representatives of Chinese universities.

In his speech, Yan Ming systematically reviewed the university’s more than 20 years of experience in internationalized education and introduced its exploratory practices and notable achievements in advancing educational internationalization, with particular emphasis on the development of the university’s first Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution, Greenwich College of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. He stated that, in the next stage, the university would seize the opportunity presented by Yunnan Province’s exploration of the RCEP International Education Cooperation Zone, deepen engagement with key partner countries, strengthen cooperation platforms, expand overseas education initiatives, and reinforce think tank support, with the goal of building the university into a leading regional hub for business talent serving South and Southeast Asia.

During the free exchange session among Chinese and foreign universities, Yan Ming held in-depth discussions with representatives of many domestic and international institutions. They exchanged views on matters such as jointly establishing collaborative research platforms, expanding student exchange programs, and advancing international accreditation of courses, laying a solid foundation for the university to further broaden its international cooperation.

The forum was hosted by the International Education Alliance and aimed to build a high-level, professional, and international platform for dialogue and collaboration. It attracted representatives from dozens of universities and educational institutions from China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and other countries and regions to discuss new pathways for cooperative education, faculty and student exchanges, academic collaboration, and talent cultivation.
