On March 5, the Kunming Education Science Research Institute and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) held a signing ceremony in Room 506 of the Zhiyuan Building at YUFE. The ceremony aimed to leverage both parties’ strengths to promote innovation in basic education in Kunming. Hu Haiyan, Member of YUFE’s Party Committee and Vice President, attended and delivered a speech. Lu Xiaojun, Deputy Director of Kunming Education Science Research Institute, and Wang Xuexian, Dean of YUFE’s Institute of Education, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

In his speech, Vice President Hu introduced YUFE’s commitment to its educational philosophy of “Rooting in Yunnan, Serving the Nation, Radiating to Neighboring Regions.” He noted YUFE’s recent initiatives, including establishing the Institute of Education and managing affiliated primary and secondary schools, to explore integrated development between higher and basic education. He expressed hopes for cooperation in two aspects: “strengthening mutual learning and deepening exchanges” and “empowering education through technology and leading development through innovation.”
Lu Xiaojun highly praised YUFE’s contributions and achievements in education. He expressed hope that this cooperation would jointly promote reform and development in basic education. The collaboration will advance the “YUFE Basic Education Teacher and School Alliance” project and establish teacher development platforms focusing on educational theory and teaching skills. He emphasized that the partnership aims to build a professional development community for teachers and empower the cultivation of innovative talents.

The ceremony was hosted by Su Zhaoyu, Executive Deputy Dean of YUFE’s Institute of Education. Attendees included Li Zhijian, Deputy Director of Kunming Education Science Research Institute and related officials, Zhang Ling, Director of YUFE’s Social Cooperation Office (Alumni Affairs Office), and Deputy Deans of the Institute of Education - Pu Chuan, Xu Huageng, and Dong Xuenong.
In recent years, YUFE has actively implemented the “Yunnan Province Three-Year Action Plan for High-Quality Education Development,” establishing its Institute of Education to build a quality basic education brand. The university continues to manage the teaching work at Panlong District YUFE Wenhan School (formerly YUFE Affiliated Middle School) following the public school reform. In 2023, YUFE collaborated with Panlong District Government to establish Panlong District YUFE Affiliated Middle School, which has quickly become a popular choice for enrollment through innovative educational approaches.
