The track and field events of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th Special Olympics Games were held in Guangzhou. Li Chaoyan, a teacher from our PE Department and a two-time Paralympic marathon champion, won two gold medals in the Men’s T46 5000m and 10,000m events. His outstanding performance showcased remarkable athletic prowess and a vibrant sporting spirit, setting an inspiring example for all faculty and students.

During the competition, Li Chaoyan competed in the T46 1500m, 5000m, and 10,000m events. On December 9, he finished fourth in the 1500m race. On December 11, he seized the 5000m title with a time of 15 minutes and 28 seconds. On December 13, he successfully defended his title in the 10,000m race with a time of 34 minutes and 45.47 seconds, achieving a "double crown" breakthrough in long-distance running.
