To implement the spirit of important speeches regarding Yunnan's development and promote friendly interactions between international students and local youth, the university sent 10 international students and 2 faculty members from the School of Overseas Education to Diqing Prefecture from October 28 to 31. Invited by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Diqing People's Government, they participated in the cultural exchange event "Experience China · Encounter Shangri-La." The participating students hailed from countries including Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Zambia.

The event featured workshops on traditional Chinese culture, experiences of ethnic customs, themed salons, and social networking. By traveling deep into Shangri-La, the international students not only appreciated the magnificent natural scenery and unique cultural charm but also gained a firsthand understanding of the fruitful achievements of Yunnan's ethnic minority regions in promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning between civilizations.

During a networking event at Shangri-La Vocational College, our international students interacted with local students from Tibetan, Lisu, and Naxi ethnic groups. They engaged in cross-border cultural dialogues through vibrant ethnic songs and dances.

The event reached its climax with a chorus of the song "Meeting You," as Chinese and foreign students danced hand-in-hand, bringing the cultural exchange to a successful conclusion.

The activity was hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Diqing People's Government, organized by Yunnan Jiafushun Cultural Industry Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Shangri-La Vocational College and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
